Location
Where is Bunbury and the Silos?
The Bunbury Silos Apartment complex is located off Casuarina drive, in Holman Way, Bunbury, Western Australia. The original Cooperative Bulk Handling (CBH) grain silos were built during 1937 and was the first time a continuous concrete pour into form-work was undertaken for a major construction. The non stop concrete pouring took around 480 man hours to complete.

The Silos became a major Bunbury icon and was eventually heritage listed. The Silos has now been transformed into a modern up market living complex with magnificent ocean views over Koombana Bay..

Below is a map of Bunbury's history with photos and early pioneers of the region. Bunbury
has changed from a small colonial settlement to one of West Australia's major ports.

The silos became a Bunbury icon and after the demolition of what was known
as the 'grey silos' the remaining 'white silos' were then developed from a grain
storage into to a modern high rise living apartments.

The Co-operative Bulk Handling (known as CBH) grain silos were built in 1937.
The silos became a significant Bunbury icon and are now heritage listed and were
awarded The Finalist & High Commendation 2008 - Heritage Council Awards.
